All children aged 0 to 5 years are offered seven health examinations by their own doctor. All children are offered free vaccination against a variety of diseases. In the child's first year of life, free home visits are offered by the ‘sundhedsplejerske’.

Preventive pediatric examinations and vaccinations

The schedule for the preventive health examinations at the family doctor and at school, as well as the vaccinations is as follows:

• 5 weeks: Examination

• 3 months: Vaccination

• 5 months: Examination + Vaccination

• 12 months: Examination + Vaccination

• 15 months: Vaccination

• 2 years: Examination

• 3 years: Examination

• 4 years: Examination + Vaccination

• 5 years: Examination + Vaccination

• 6 years: Examination (at school)

• 12 years: Vaccination

• 15 years: Examination (at school)
